Hotels That Accept Cryptocurrency
The cryptocurrency market has exploded over the last few years. This surge has led to huge gains in not only value but also the widespread popularity of coins, such as Bitcoin(BTC) and Ethereum(ETH). While trying to keep up with the ever-changing times, more and more service providers are starting to get on board. The industry we will be discussing today is hospitality, more specifically hotels. Below you will find a few hotels that accept cryptocurrency and what you can purchase with your hard-earned coins.
Hotels that Accept Cryptocurrency
Yes, believe it or not, there are hotels out there that accept crypto as payment. You can spend it on your stay and certain things during your stay as well. Here are three organizations that will gladly accept your coins as payment.
The Kessler Collection
The first entry on our list of crypto-friendly hotels is the Kessler Collection. The Kessler Collection is a chain of luxury hotels with 12 locations scattered across the United States. A majority of Kessler establishments are named The Grand Bohemian Hotel. However, a few others, such as the Beaver Creek Lodge, located in Beaver Creek, CO, have their own names. The Kessler Collection is considered the first luxury hotel chain in the United States to accept cryptocurrency as payment.
Kessler is partnered with Bitpay, which is the largest provider of cryptocurrency payment services in the world. Eight of the company’s hotels will allow you to book your room and even events like weddings with cryptocurrency. The types of crypto that Kessler will accept are Bitcoin, Ethereum, Doge, and a few others.
The Bobby Hotel
Another hotel that accepts cryptocurrency as payment is the Bobby Hotel in Nashville, TN. The Bobby Hotel is also partnered with Bitpay, which makes paying with crypto super easy. All you need is the app on your phone and you can book a stay at the Bobby Hotel using Bitcoin, Etherum, and even the darling of Reddit, Dogecoin. To pay for your stay, all you have to do at check out is scan a QR code on your phone and the funds will be withdrawn from your crypto wallet.
The Dolder Grand
If you are looking to stay outside the United States, the Dolder Grand hotel in Switzerland now accepts cryptocurrency. Since 2019, the Dolder Grand has allowed guests to pay for their bills in Bitcoin using the Inapay app. The process is similar to the methods used at the other hotels we have mentioned by using a QR code at check-out. Your bill is calculated in Swiss Francs and on the invoice is a QR code for the transaction. All you have to do is scan the code with your phone and the equivalent funds are deducted from your crypto wallet.
These are just a few of the hotels around the world that accept cryptocurrency as payment. With time, I am sure many more will follow suit. If you’re planning to travel using your latest cryptocurrency gains make sure to check the current COVID restrictions in that area before you book your stay. You wouldn’t want to waste your hard-earned crypto on a vacation to be locked in a hotel for the entirety of your stay.
